About Us
OfficeHelp is a division of our International Christian Prayer Ministry, YourPrayerPartner.com, which started in 2022 by John Devery, a Born Again Christian based in Wellington.
We have always had a focus on the Philippines, and in our ministry we meet many highly qualified and skilled Filipinos looking for remote office work.
OfficeHelp provides NZ businesses with an affordable alternative option, as well as an opportunity to bless a Filipino Christian family with a good income.

University Qualified Staff
All staff have completed a University Degree.
We can provide staff with Degrees in: Accounting, Law, Marketing, Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, Psychology, Finance, Education, Hospitality, Nursing, Laboratory, Economics, Architecture, and more.....
NZ$15.00 per hour minimum
NZ$15.00 per hour is less than half what you would pay a New Zealander with a degree. You can hire remote Filipinos for less through agencies, but they will always be "unhappy" and, therefore, always looking for other work opportunities. Pay them properly, and they will reward you with dedicated, and quality work. Their value to you will grow as they stay with you long term. We only working with NZ Churches and Businesses who are prepared to pay contractors a minimum of NZ$15.00 per hour. From 4 - 40 hours per week.
No Kiwisaver or Annual Leave
Because staff are contractors, in general, annual leave or sick pay is not expected. Kiwisaver is also not required. This reduction in costs can be taken into consideration when deciding on the appropriate pay per hour rate. Some churches and businesses do provide some level of payment during sickness and holidays, but that is entirely up to you, and is at your own discretion.
Christian Filipino Staff
All candidates we send to you are living in the Philippines, and looking for remote office work they can do from their homes. Over the last 15 years, I have hired and worked with multiple remote Filipino staff, they are dedicated, reliable, motivated, honest, respectful, and will work hard to complete tasks successfully. They are generally a delight to work with. I cannot recommend them more highly.
You choose the hours of work
Many start out with 10-15 hours per week, spread over 2-5 days. But you can choose to start from as little as 4 hours per week, and up to 40 hours per week. Generally, you will find that after an initial period, you will find more and more things for your Office Helper to do, leaving you and your other staff free to do other more important things.
Working New Zealand Hours
All staff are happy to work standard New Zealand working hours, we cover this in our initial interview. The Philippines is 4-5 hours behind New Zealand, depending on Daylight Saving. You will find Filipino staff are very flexible and will fit into whatever working hours you require. However, working on weekends is generally not expected.
We interview candidates
Candidates register with us. We then take them through an interview process, which includes: Written English, Spoken English, Proof of Degree, Review of CV and work history, Desired work hours, Type of work they are looking for, Home office setup, Computer hardware. However, we do assume you will have your own interview processes.
Working on weekends
Filipinos are very Family and Church orientated. Most weekends are spent with extended family, and very often with multiple Church events and activities. As an Employer it is not wise to ask your Filipino Office Helper to work on a weekend, except in special circumstances. By showing this respect, your working relationship will be enhanced.
How often is salary paid?
Most staff prefer to be paid fortnightly, however monthly is acceptable. Once agreed, salary payments should be made on time, as many staff rely heavily on timely payments to take care of their own living costs. Staff will quickly become unhappy and unsettled if payments are not made on time. Keep in mind, Filipinos are often afraid to complain.
Contracts - with staff
OfficeHelp.co.nz will not be involved in writing or creating the contract you have with your Office Helper. Such a contract is totally between you and the Office Helper. We will also not be involved in any disputes or legal actions between you and the Office Helper. Once we have introduced you to candidates, the rest is over to you.
Video Meetings
In today's world, particularly since Covid, working remotely and having regular video meetings has now become part of our normal work life. A staff member could be working from home, 100 metres from your office, or they could be based in another country. The process is now seamless. Meetings can be on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, WhatsApp, or Zoom.
PAYE & Tax & Payments
As Office Helpers are usually Contractors, PAYE and GST, are generally not required. Contractors look after their own tax. Payments to contractors can be easily done online via OrbitRemit, PayPal, or GCash with very low online fees. We have used OrbitRemit for many years and have found them to be excellent, they also have a New Zealand office.
Our Guarantee
If, for any reason, you are not happy with your Office Helper, we will Refund 100% of your Introductory Fee to us. This must happen within 35 days from the date you pay the introduction fee. We will send you Two Candidates to consider on the same date. If you decide not to proceed with either of them - a full refund applies, if within the 35 days.
Blessing both Churches and Christian Filipino Families
Because we are not an agency, but an Introduction Service, 100% of your regular payments go directly to your Office Worker. That means it costs you less, and the Office Worker receives a much higher income. That means it is good for both. Everyone Wins!
Filipino focused agencies can take up to 50% of the regular payments, with the remainder going to the Worker. This results in low pay, and demotivated workers looking for second jobs, which can result in long working hours, being tired, and not focused.
We only have a One-Off Introduction Fee. Then you pay your Office Helper directly. This results in more dedicated and happy long term office contractors, who don't need a second job, and are more rested and better focused. Quality Staff Member.
After you pay us the introduction fee, we send you TWO Quality Applicants to consider. Once hired, we are then not involved. You are in total control. You write the contract, and you negotiate the hours, work, and pay.

NZ$249.00 plus GST - (no other costs)
Churches: 50% Discount
Christian Business: 20% Discount (Owned or managed by a Christian)
